Some viewers said that actor Jamie Foxx said on his stand-up show that rapper Diddy caused him to be hospitalized and nearly died last year and Jamie reported the investigation to the FBI.
Jamie Fox recently filmed his Netflix special What Had Happened Was on October 4, 5, and 6 at a theater in Atlanta. In a conversation with Comedy Hype on YouTube on October 7, director and producer Choke No Joke said he attended the first and last shows. Choke claimed Jamie told the audience that Diddy was responsible for what happened to him and that he was the one who called the FBI to arrest the rapper.
When asked if Jamie Fox’s comments were a joke on the show, Choke replied: “I don’t think he was joking. I’m a comedian so I know when someone is joking and when they’re serious.”
“Foxx said, ‘Diddy did something to me. And I’m the one who called the feds on him,'” Choke continued. He guessed Foxx did so out of fear, saying the actor disappeared for a while and then returned when Diddy was taken into custody.
Speaking to Page Six on October 24, Choke No Joke said he was shocked to hear Jamie Foxx speak directly about this on the comedy show. The filmmaker said he and others in the industry had heard these rumors before. Choke explained that the audience members had their phones confiscated when they entered the show so they couldn’t record what Jamie said, but at the end of the show he was allowed to take a selfie with the actor.
Another audience member, Big Homie’s bodyguard, said he heard Jamie Foxx say he was poisoned by Diddy and that the actor reported it to the FBI. The bodyguard claimed to have watched two of Jamie’s recordings with a client. The bodyguard’s account is consistent with an article published by Media Take Out earlier this week. According to the article, the crowd initially laughed when Jamie Foxx said Diddy was responsible for his condition, but then stopped laughing when Foxx had to look straight at the audience seriously.
Meanwhile, a third viewer, Dennis LA White, had a different take. According to Dennis, Jamie said something like, “People keep asking me if Diddy is responsible. He’s not responsible. If he was, I wouldn’t be standing here.” Dennis also added that he doesn’t remember Foxx mentioning the FBI, but spent a lot of time talking about Diddy and making “baby oil” jokes.
Jamie Fox’s rep has not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment . However, shortly after the three performances, the actor posted a message on Instagram: “I had the opportunity to tell my story and there is no better place to do it than Atlanta, Georgia… When people ask me if this is a stand-up comedy show, I say no. The show is an artistic interpretation of something very bad that happened. Thanks to the wonderful people of Atlanta, especially Piedmont Hospital, I was able to get back on stage and do what I love most.”
Jamie Fox posted two photos, one of which shows him crying on stage, holding a microphone.
In April 2023, Jamie Fox was hospitalized in Atlanta for “medical complications,” his daughter said. Three months later, Jamie appeared on Instagram, tearfully recounting the horrific experience , but did not reveal what exactly went wrong. Jamie said he was in a coma for 20 days and did not think he would survive.
A month later, Jamie shared a post with the hashtag “fake friend” and further explained that he had been betrayed by a friend.
Diddy is currently in custody in New York. The 54-year-old rap mogul was arrested on September 16 on charges of conspiracy to commit extortion, sex trafficking and soliciting prostitution . Diddy has denied the charges.
